I’m two weeks into this break between seasons, so I wanted to give some insight into what it feels like.
Mostly, it’s restful. The constant cycle of recording, editing, and writing, which is basically the engine behind each episode, has stopped. I notice it, but in a way that feels good. There’s open space now where deadlines used to crowd in, and honestly, I like it.
But the practice itself, doesn’t just pause because I set the microphone down. Even now, Season 2 is starting to take shape in the background, almost without me forcing it. Ideas creep in when you make room for them. Just because the show’s on hiatus doesn’t mean the work disappears. The process keeps going, it just shifts form for a bit.
I like the way that sits with me. It actually sounds a lot like what Season 1 kept coming back to. The idea that you don’t really step out of the threshold, you just exist in it differently for a while.
Season 2 is coming together. I’m not ready to spill any details yet, mostly because I want to see where it goes before talking about it. But it’s definitely on the move, and honestly, I’m curious to see where it’ll end up.
Right now, the quiet feels good. The work feels good. Weirdly enough, both are true at the same time.
So, that’s where I am, right now.
